Preparation for meeting of the minds

To prepare for Monday i have read more on Einstein in the books that I checked out and online. I also got an outfit that seemed like something Einstein would wear. Since he was a genius he was also considered a nerd. I Got a Gray wig which I will try to make it messy like Einstein's hair usually was. I could not find any facial hair but I think it is better because I would not be able to correctly speak. I will wear a sweater with a collared shirt underneath much like nerds including Einstein wore. I'm very excited for this meeting of the minds because it will give me a chance to show everyone that Einstein was not just some nerd who only cared about science. He cared about world issues too, and I will show this when I speak on Monday.

Preperation for Meeting of the minds

Today we prepared for meeting of the minds by reading more on our characters in class. After checking out our books from the library we read in class. The person who i have to personify is Albert Einstein. Before learning more about him, i only knew Einstein for his equation E=mc squared, and i didn't even know what any of those letters stood for. I also knew that he was a genius but that was about it. Einstein did a lot more than most people know. His brilliant mind and his thirst for knowledge allowed him to make remarkable observations. He came up with the idea that atoms could be split and this idea was used to create the bomb that was used to destroy Hiroshima and Nagasaki during WWII. Some people believed that Einstein was directly part of the team that created the bomb but he was not. He simply had an idea that was later used in destructive ways.

Connection Across Time (To the past)

The twenty-first century brought about hope for most individuals. It was the start of a new era and hopefully the end of most conflicts. This hope was crushed in the very beginning. 9/11 made the U.S loose all hope for peace in the world. Their are many problems during this century so far and some even reflect back to the 20th century. First of all problems such as global warming, pollution and terrorism have hit an all time high. The problem that reflects back to the 20th century is genocide. After the Holocaust, the united states had promised that it would never allow this monstrosity to happen again, yet it is still occurring in Sudan. Many mistakes of the 20th century are reflected back to those of this century. For example the war in Iraq is sometimes seen as a double of the Vietnam war during the 20th century. Many problems face our nation and our world today and we, all countries, must come together in order to fix them.

Zoa Ace: "Memory Lane"
Zoa Ace is a fan of oil painting on canvases. Her works of art deal primarily with human relationships and emotions. She strives for the viewer to interpret what is happening in the painting just as they might interpret a poem, step by step and examining all parts of the piece. In this painting, there are many things going on. Their is a lobster at the bottom, a swan and a fish. On top of all that, there are a lot of people communicating and interacting while the woman holding the glass seems as if she is thinking or even communicating with the swan to her left. All of these images relate to the craziness of a memory. when someone remembers something, it is not just one thing but multiple things. this can create confusion. This state of confusion is also reflected during the 21th century. Everyone was confused about the future. After many wars, no one knows what is in store for the future. Confusion was a big part of the 21th century and still is.

Sabzi: "Romantic Surprise"
The artist Sabzi was born in Ahwaz, Iran. His passion for painting came at about the age of twelve. His subjects were almost always women. He painted them as beautiful, graceful and elegant. Sabzi focuses more on modernism more than any other art form. Sabzi also, painted the faces of individuals as very mysterious. Their are no distinct features in these faces in order to portray the mystery and uncertainty of the 21th century. Many problems and questions arose during this time and not many people knew the answers to them. The problems and challenges during this time period was reflected in many works of art.

Out On The Town- Avtandil

This painting was created by Avtandil Makharoblidze from the Republic of Georgia. Avtandil's impressionists style is revealed through this painting out on the town. The light and harmony in this piece brings about a poetic feel to the observer. The woman looks confident in both her posture and in her body language. In all of his paintings, Avtandil shows human beings as being beautiful. During the 21th century, although there were challenges, there were also many up sides. People were feeling better about themselves. More people went out at night and the women showed confidence in their attire and in their attitudes. The 21th century brought about confidence in many young women and Avtandil chose to show this confidence in many of his paintings.
